No, the unit will power on and off automatically when connected to a power source.

What is the correct method to remove the MicroSD card?
First disconnect the power from the unit and wait for it to finish powering down.
Once the unit has completely shut down press on the microSD card in its slot
on the side of the unit. Always reinsert the microSD card prior to powering on the device.
Failure to follow these steps may corrupt data stored on your sd card.
My unit is having problems recording to or detecting the MicroSD card?
You may have disconnected your microSD card in an improper manner that has caused
it to become corrupt or it has developed bad sectors due to prolonged write/re-write cycles.
We recommend formatting your microSD card at least once a month.
This will maintain the longevity of your microSD card and minimize similar issues in the future.
Please ensure that you have backed up all video files that you wish to keep prior to formatting.

How do you update firmware?
If there is a new firmware available for your unit we recommend installing it onto the microSD card
prior to your first usage of the new unit. This will ensure your unit has the most current firmware installed.

followed by "Restarting the BlackVue". Upon restart the unit will have been updated and ready for use.
